Are you looking for a Technology Integration Specialist?
21st Century Education
Technology is fundamentally changing the way we educate. I support educators in being lifelong learners, risk-takers, and tireless advocates for the needs of students. I strive to ask the tough questions that challenge the underlying paradigms that shape schools today.
I focus on leveraging technology to improve student outcomes. It is the learning and not the tool itself that makes the difference. I listen and work collaboratively with teachers to find the leverage points for digital tools in their classrooms. I locate digital resources to support student learning and troubleshoot the pitfalls of the technology itself. I model innovation by looking for creative solutions to challenges teachers face. I advocate for students to become digitally literate and responsible digital and global citizens. And I share what works and doesn’t work to create a community around the effective use of technology to improve learning outcomes.
I am highly in-tune with the responsibilities of educators to prepare students for lives and careers of the future. I see the skill necessities of 21st century learners as:
- Technology literacy
- Information literacy
- Critical Thinking
Project and Challenge Based Learning
I often utilize challenge and project-based learning to facilitate the skill development of my 21st century students. With my students, we often collaborate on projects globally such as:
